CHICAGO, Sept. 29, 2009 — In a mutually beneficial transaction, The Marillac House, a non-profit organization that focuses on strengthening and empowering children and families on Chicago’s west side, subleased 17,000 square feet of space with expansion options from its 212 South Francisco Street location to Learn Charter School, a high performing, college prep elementary school serving almost 1,000 public school students in North Lawndale and East Garfield.  

 

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Fred Schuler and Ben Erskine represented The Marillac House pro bono.  Greg Gerber, Chairman of the Learn Charter School’s Board of Directors, assisted in the transaction.

The Learn Charter School will initially lease 17,000 square feet of space for grades K-3 and plans to add additional grade levels and lease additional space over the next few years.  This is LEARN’s third school and its long term plans are to open 13 more over the next decade.
